On the campus of UNCG, there is a restaurant called Yum Yum's (Spring
Garden Street). It is a very popular place for students to eat at on
campus. One day my friends and I decided to go there to get some ice
cream together. Unfortunately, I was not able to get inside of the
building due to it's inaccessibility. The only way to get into the
building was by using the stairs. I was in a wheelchair so I couldn't
use the stairs to get in. There was no other entrance on the back or the
sides of the building. This made me feel frustrated and mad because I
wanted to get in and enjoy some ice cream just like my friends and
everyone else.
Yum Yum's is an easy location to get to
on campus but it is not easily accessible to everyone to enter. There is
a way for Yum Yum's to fix this problem. They would just need to build a
ramp leading to the entrance. This ramp would be good for a lot of
people that are using wheelchairs, using walkers, or have mobility
problems.
Overall, on a scale of 1 - 5, I would rate Yum Yum's with a ZERO!!
